Peter Guy discovered music late. Since then he's been making up for it. With a collection to rival a small record shop and a gig diary fit for any addled groupie, music is is his religion. Sometimes he dreams of having Liam, Prince and Jimmy Page round for tea but most of the time he can be found writing and designing the Daily Post's sports pages. Getintothis is his guide to music, which he hopes you’ll contribute to.

Win Skins live tickets! Star in Series 3

Posted by Peter Guy on April 22, 2008 12:00 PM |

Fancy being in the next Series of Skins? Fancy winning tickets to the Skins live party in Liverpool on Friday? Course you do...

Could you be the next Cassie or Tony?
Television drama series Skins may have finished last week, but the hunt is on for a new gang of teenage hipsters for Series 3.
The creators of E4's groundbreaking show are taking their casting team on the road throughout April and May, stopping off in Liverpool on Friday (April 25) for auditions and culminating in an evening of electro-indie at Nation.
Acts on the Liverpool bill are a veritable who’s who of up-and-coming names with Crystal Castles, Ladyhawke, David E. Sugar all playing live, plus a host of decks-based wizardry from tour DJ The Freelance Hellraiser as well as Osymyso.
Skins casting scouts will also be on the look-out for new faces. Everyone who buys a ticket will be sent a short script which they can use to audition for a part in Series 3.
“We’ve been hunting for identical twin girls and a Polish guy through SkinsLife.com and we’ve had a fantastic response, says Skins co-creator and executive producer, Bryan Elsley. “We’re now looking for all sorts of people for Series 3 - from extras all the way up to lead roles. The auditions will take place at every Skins Live party, so look sharp.
As if that wasn’t enough, Liverpool musicians looking for their big break can win the chance to share the stage with these big-name acts by entering their material at SkinsLife.com. The winners will be selected from the SkinsLife users’ favourite entries.
“We’ve had some brilliant music posted in our Parties competitions at SkinsLife.com, says Skins’ Head Of Music, Alex Hancock.
“Everyone here liked one particular track so much, Jenny Jones by Paper Heroes, we used it in Episode 9 of the Series 2.
Tickets for the Skins Live Tour are only available from www.SkinsLife.com at £10.
Getintothis has ten pairs of tickets for Friday’s Skins gig up for grabs, to win answer this question: Which Oxford band appeared in Skins online and released Antidotes last month to much critical acclaim?
Email your answers to vickyanderson@dailypost.co.uk - and include your full name and address.
Usual Liverpool Daily Post rules apply and closing date is Thursday April 24.
