Good number one, and good to see Deerhunter, Mogwai and Neon Neon cracking the top 20.
Dear Science deserves it because it is a proper album - a cohesive whole, decent from start to finish. there's too many hyped albums this year that fail this basic test - they just have a few good singles >>> vampire weekend, mgmt, hot chip etc etc...
cohesive or not, bon iver is just overrated toss.
Jason, you were doing so well. Then you go and ruin it all with that Bon Iver mongness.
Sort it out Jase. You owe it to yourself.
ha ha - you'll pretend you never said that when ivor turns out to be Cowell's latest project - his bid to ensnare the sophisticated music fan who is a sucker for sentimentalist pap if it's wrapped up in backwoods-americana-ism hokum. not so dissimilar to those urban fleet foxes in fact!
oh dear Jason, surely you're not one these types that thinks the whole world is one giant conspiracy; Bon Iver has about as much in common as he does to Les Savy Fav - they have beards!
Look beyond and you'll find a timeless record which is far more superior than the drudged up nu-folk of Fleet Foxes and their ilk.
I checked out Bear in heaven too, and they are brilliant. good call.
