Agree with a lot of what he said. Critics are disappearing, everyone thinks they're a journalist.
I can't stand it.
Mostly, he's full of obnoxious shite - music journalism's more than writing reviews and letting the 'bredren' know 'wa gwan'. Mind given he's dressed like a trucker he'll be able to find a job driving a rig when the reviewing dries up next year.
He may speak the truth about looking to the media for reviews of record, but journalism's about more than that. If you are on twitter looking for cogent analysis - you are an eejit. Do you look to Facebook for analysis? No - then why twitter just because it is new? At least, dressed like a trucker - he'll get a job driving a rig when the reviewing dries up next year. What a beaut.
surely its cos people haven't the attention span/time/inclination to read Pfork/Pop matters style long winded thesis - and twitter offers a decent alt. not sayin its right but you can see where he's comin from - specially as every tom, dick and larry has a blog now and who cares what they all say. at least by doin it his way it seems fun, no?
