Career advice from Professor Mike Doherty esq.

When your band name is better suited to a mini-cab company, you're probably not onto a winner.
The Red Deltas create music for those who think Keane are too edgy and the intro to opener 'Cut By A Razorblade' sounds dangerously like the former's 'Is It Any Wonder?'
However, it is front man Mats who grabs our attention.
He bounces around the stage like platform game character Crash Bandicoot, and hypes the crowd with his relentless enthusiasm.
If the band doesn't work out, we suggest a career as a Blue Peter presenter.

I was at The Red Deltas gig when they were supporting Chester French. I thought they were a really great live band. I would go and see them play again.

I saw this band play at Korova. I thought they had some good songs. The lead singer's energy was great to watch, made this band a lot more interesting than other bands I have seen.

when a music reviewer uses Keane as a point of reference they obviously have about as much music knowledge as my nan...and thats not much. I have seen The Red Delta's and thought they were awesome, every song they played had the whole crowd dancing. I think that is a true sign of a good band if a load of people who had never seen them before are willing to bounce around with as much enthusiasm as the lead singer then they are obviously doing something right!

Keane?
There's an old saying "Those who can do, those who can't teach" ... may I add "Those without a clue, write about it!"

When it doesn't work out, can I suggest a career writing gig reviews for the Echo music blog ...
